Enhanced Wellness offers an Integrative Medicine approach to patient care combining conventional Western medicine with complementary alternative medical treatments that have been scientifically validated. Many Americans have never heard of integrative medicine, but it has become a holistic movement that has been embodied in many of the nation's hospitals, universities, and medical schools. At Enhanced Wellness we offer a healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. Rather than just treating symptoms, we place an emphasis on health and avoidance or mitigation of many of the ailments associated with aging and our environment.
Enhanced Wellness strives to embody the principles of Integrative Medicine:
Patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process.
All factors that influence health, wellness, and disease are taken into consideration, including mind, spirit, and community, as well as the body.
Appropriate use of both conventional and alternative methods facilitates the body's innate healing response.
Effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used whenever possible.
Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative therapies uncritically.
Good medicine is based in good science. It is inquiry-driven and open to new paradigms.
Alongside the concept of treatment, the broader concepts of health promotion and the prevention of illness are paramount.
Practitioners of integrative medicine should exemplify its principles and commit themselves to self-exploration and self-development. With this in mind, Enhanced Wellness offers a wide variety of treatments including acupuncture, bio-identical hormone replacement (BHRT), IV nutritional therapy, pain management including interventional blocks, massage therapy, meditation and others.

Jan Jay, DOM
Born in Hawaii and of Asian descent, Dr. Jay grew up in a family that utilized both Chinese and Western medicine.
Two incidents in her life led her to the career path she now leads: At the age of 12, she had a near death experience when her airway swelled shut while she was sick with croup. She spent 3 months in intensive care due to complications, and attributes her survival to the innovation of allopathic medicine. Then at the age of 21, while pursuing her studies at the University of California Irvine, she was involved in a serious car accident. Doctors told her she was permanently, partially disabled. Unwilling to accept that fate, she sought alternative care for her rehabilitation, and acupuncture was one of the therapies she employed.
Dr. Jay began her formal training in Chinese medicine at the Tai Hsuan Foundation in Honolulu, and completed her degree at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Following graduation, she continued to expand her knowledge and skill by completing training at The Academy of Advanced Integrative Medicine, achieving the highest NM licensure for DOM’s - Expanded Prescriptive Authority Rx2. She is certified in Chelation Therapy through the American College of Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), has extensive training in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement therapy (BHRT) through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and has studied oxidative therapies with Dr. Lamberto Re & Dr. Frank Shallenberger. She has also completed advanced training in nutrient infusion therapies through both ACAM & A4M.
Dr. Jay’s passion is in the practice of “Functional Medicine”, in which she draws upon her different areas of training to restore or optimize a patient’s health.
